How does one become Catholic?

Welcome! It’s wonderful that you are exploring faith and how to share in the joy, peace and hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church has a process called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) that calls adults (and children of catechetical age) to a conversion of mind and heart and that prepares them for a full and active life in the Church as disciples of Jesus.  This process is spread out over a period of time – in many cases a year or more – to help the individual to become a mature and involved Catholic Christian.  The OCIA takes place within the context of a parish community.
