Tampa Bay Community to Unite in March for Life: Advocating for the End of Abortion

Who: The Catholic Diocese of Saint Petersburg is hosting its first-ever Tampa March for Life with young people leading the way. More than 600 people are expected, including people of various cultural and faith backgrounds.

What: Half-Mile March for Life and Rally for Life

When: Saturday, February 1st from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: The event starts at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 N Florida Ave, Tampa, and concludes at Perry Harvey Sr. Park, 1000 E Harrison St, Tampa.

Why: This event will bring together hundreds of young people and community members to advocate for the protection of life and the end of abortion. The March for Life is a peaceful witness to the community that participants care about the lives of the unborn, as well as the moms and dads facing a crisis pregnancy.

Event Highlights:

  • 9:10 AM Mass led by Bishop Gregory Parkes and other local priests. Mass is the central worship service for Catholics and their highest form of prayer.
  • 10:10 AM Group Photo on the Steps outside Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
  • 10:20 AM March will begin and continue through downtown streets accompanied by the Tampa Police Department. Participants will follow a diocesan banner, a special float decorated with bright flowers, and an image of Mary, the Mother of God.
  • 11:00 AM Rally at Perry Harvey Park with music, speakers, games, and other activities.

All members of the community are invited to join this meaningful event.
