Word reached the Chancellor’s Office of the passing of Reverend Thomas G. Sarnecki, age 92, retired priest of the Diocese of Scranton, PA, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Bay Pines V.A. Hospital.  He served as Chaplain at Bay Pines VA Hospital from 2008 – 2014, when he retired at age 82, and remained in residence within the Diocese, near Bay Pines.

Father Sarnecki was previously married and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and other extended family members.  Four years after the death of his wife, Chris, he discerned the priesthood and was ordained for the Diocese of Scranton in 2002.  

Funeral Mass: Monday, October 7, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at St. Justin, Martyr Catholic Church, 10851 Ridge Road, Seminole, Florida 33778.
A private Committal Service will take place at a later time at Florida Hills Memorial Garden, Spring Hill, Florida.
