The Chancellor’s Office received word that Reverend Salim Joseph, O.F.M., 58, passed away suddenly on September 1, 2023 as a result of a heart attack, while in route to Logan International Airport, in Boston.  Father Joseph served as Parochial Vicar of Sacred Heart Parish, Tampa, from 2018 to 2020, after which he was transferred to Immaculate Conception Parish, in Durham, North Carolina, and eventually, to his most recent assignment at St. Anthony’s Shrine, in Boston.

A Funeral Mass for Father Joseph will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa.  A full obituary with complete funeral details, may be found on the Sacred Heart Parish website at this link.
