The mission of Intercultural Ministries in the Diocese of St. Petersburg is to recognize, celebrate, and support ministries and parishes that invite Indonesian Catholics within the diocese to Courageously Live the Gospel.
The Tampa KKI “Keluarga Katolik Indonesia” or Indonesian Catholic Community holds gatherings every month for praying and faith sharing. This includes praying the rosary and stations of the Cross, faith formation sessions and Bible studies. The community also gathers to celebrate occasions like the blessing of homes, baby showers, birthdays and weddings. A quarterly Mass in Indonesian had been celebrated at St. Timothy Catholic Church since 2015. Fr. Vincent Suparman, S.C.J., local superior of the retirement community for the priests of the Sacred Heart in Pinellas Park presides at the Masses and serves as a spiritual advisor to the Tampa KKI ministry.
