The speakers for the 7th Annual Marian Congress on Saturday, May 3, 2025 are:
Rev. Chuck Dornquast
Fr. Chuck Dornquast is a son of St. Joseph Parish in Zephyrhills, FL. After graduating from Zephyrhills High School, he entered seminary where he would spend the next 9 years. While in seminary he spent time at many parishes and discovered more and more the heart of Christ the High Priest within him. After ordination he spent his first four years of priesthood as the Associate Pastor of St. Lawrence in Tampa. He currently serves as the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, the NFL Chaplain for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the President of the National Conference for Diocesan Vocation Directors.
Very Rev. Emery Longanga, Ph.D., V.F.
Father Emery Longanga is a priest of the Diocese of Saint Petersburg. He is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. Presently, he serves as the pastor of Holy Cross Parish, Saint Petersburg and the Dean of the Central Pinellas Deanery. Father Emery holds a PhD in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, sits on different committees and boards in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg. He teaches Pastoral Theology and Missiology at the University of Notre Dame de Tshumbe, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has published many articles on Evangelization and Inculturation. His forthcoming book is titled: “What we have seen and touched: narrative for a new evangelization.”
Rev. George Gyasi
Fr. George is a native of Kumasi-Ghana and West Africa and originally from a family of seven in Kumasi where he grew up and he has been in priestly ministry for over twenty-one years. He began his priestly journey from St. Hubert Minor Seminary in Kumasi. He earned an Associate Degree in Philosophy from St. Paul Catholic Seminary in Accra- Ghana and continued with his priestly formation in Rome-Italy from 2000-2004, received a bachelor’s in sacred theology from the Pontifical College and University Maria Mater Ecclesiae Regina Apostolo-rum and a Masters in Bioethics and another in Philosophical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University- Rome. Upon his Ordination to the Diaconate in March 19th, 2003 and subsequent ordination to Holy Priesthood, Fr. George has served as Archdiocesan Secretary of the Roman Archdiocese of Kumasi- Ghana and served as the Personnel Secretary to Archbishop Peter Sarpong- Emeritus of Archbishop of Kumasi from 2003-2008 and in Curia and Major Domo, Seminary Professor, Academic Dean and Vice Rector, Lecturer in Philosophy and theology at the St. Gregory Provincial Seminary from 2012-2017 has been in ministry in England, Italy and Germany before serving here in Florida at Saint Petersburg Diocese namely, as the Parochial Vicar of 5 parishes in our Diocese St. Anne, St. Paul, Our Lady of Guadalupe as a Catholic Priest Chaplain at St. Joseph Hospitals- Tampa, Lutz Riverview etc. He is currently assigned to Resurrection in Riverview and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ybor City. In recent years, Fr. George received his Board Certification in Chaplaincy BCC and completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy, 2023- respectively.
