The aim of the Institute is to assist the laity in the development of the knowledge skills they need for a variety of roles in ministry. The program is designed to enhance personal faith and develop intellectual aptitude to enrich personal ministry through attendance at the four-year program: an informal year of discernment and three years of formal academic training and spiritual growth.

The LPMI program provides an integrated process to equip Catholics by forming them Spiritually, Intellectually, and Pastorally. The Ministry Formation Program offered by the Diocese of St. Petersburg Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute is accredited by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation.[/vc_toggle][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_toggle title=”What are the requirements for acceptance in the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute?”]Anyone fully initiated adult (at least 21 years of age) that has been a practicing Catholic for at least two years can attend the Year of Discernment. Registrations are due in the LPMI office no later than August 30, 2018.
The initial segment of the program, the Year of Discernment, consists of eight Saturday sessions from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. The classes meet at Christ the King Parish, located at 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa and begin on September 8, 2018 and continue once monthly through April 2019.
