Rev. Msgr. Mercurio Fregapane

Msgr. FregapaneMonsignor Fregapane passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Monsignor Fregapane was a priest of the Diocese of Harrisburg, PA. Since his retirement in 2002, he assisted at many parishes in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, with special affection for the Hispanic community. He is survived by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will take place on January 19, 2017 in New York.  There will be a Memorial Mass in our Diocese and we will post the information here.

Mrs. Mary Jo Murphy

Mary JoThe Chancellor’s Office was notified of the death of Mrs. Mary Jo Murphy, long-time diocesan Communications Office employee and Spirit FM radio personality, on Friday, January 13, 2017.  Mary Jo was also the sister of Father Michael O’Brien, pastor of St. Clement Parish, Plant City.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 715 E. Orange Street, Tarpon Springs.  There will be no viewing or Vigil Service.

Mr. Wayne J. Hermes

We received notice that Mr. Wayne J. Hermes, father of Father Richard Hermes, S.J., president of Jesuit High School, Tampa, passed away in the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.  No other information has been provided.

Please keep Father Hermes, his family and loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time.
