Job Summary:

The Director of Parish Life at St. Raphael Catholic Church is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of parish life to foster a vibrant and engaged faith community. This position plays a crucial role in promoting spiritual growth, social interaction, and fostering a sense of belonging among parishioners. The Director of Parish Life will collaborate with the pastor, staff, and volunteers to develop and implement programs, events, and initiatives that align with the mission and vision of the church.

Responsibilities:

1. Pastoral Care: Provide compassionate care and support to individuals and families within the parish community, particularly during times of difficulty, loss, or crisis.

2. Program Development: Create and implement a diverse range of programs and activities to meet the spiritual, social, and educational needs of parishioners across all age groups.

3. Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist in various parish programs and events, ensuring a sense of teamwork and engagement within the community.

4. Community Building: Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment by organizing and promoting social events, fellowship opportunities, and community outreach programs.

5. Liturgical Involvement: Collaborate with the pastor and liturgical ministries to enhance the worship experience and promote active participation of the parishioners in Mass and other liturgical celebrations.

6. Communication: Effectively communicate with parishioners through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and announcements, to keep them informed about parish activities and opportunities for involvement.

7. Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with the pastor, parish staff, and various committees to support and advance the mission and vision of the church.

Qualifications :

1. Practicing Catholic: Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church and committed to living out the teachings of the Catholic faith. Values spiritual direction and annual retreat.

2. Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership role within a parish or a similar faith-based organization is preferred.

3. Pastoral Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and pastoral skills with the ability to provide spiritual guidance and support to individuals and families.

4. Organizational Abilities: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute programs and events effectively.

5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect and engage with diverse audiences.

6. Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and parishioners to build a vibrant and united faith community.

7. Flexibility: Willingness to work two evenings weekly, Sundays, and attend special events as required.

8. Education: A bachelor’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or a related field is preferred.
Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FDLE Background and Fingerprinting Screening and complete Safe Environment Training before employment.
