Overview:

St. Timothy Catholic Church is a young, vibrant Catholic Church located around the neighborhoods of Carrollwood, North Dale, Lutz, and Odessa. St. Timothy’s was founded in 1986 and has grown to be the vibrant community we are today. We are a spirit-filled, stewardship living community with a large number of families and children who are engaged in the life of our parish. The Director of Parish Life oversees the staff of the Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Departments, overseeing the Sacramental Preparation programs, Liturgical Life and ministries, and oversees and helps form the ministries of the parish as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Parish Life Director assists the pastor with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating, as well as oversight, and coordination of ministries in a spirit of collaboration with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers. 
  • Supervise all pastoral personnel including Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Music, and Liturgy.
  • Responsible for budget oversight of pastoral staff as well as many ministries.
  • Coordinates with the Pastor to provide pastoral support for the mission of the parish.
  • Collaborates with other ordained clergy to ensure pastoral and sacramental needs are addressed.
  • Coordinate with other clergy to represent St. Tim’s at Mother Teresa of Calcutta (MTC) events and activities, as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate all Lenten, Holy Week, and Advent activities and Masses, including securing volunteers for the various ministries needed.
  • Be an active member of the Parish Leadership Team, meeting once per week.
  • Leads monthly Liturgy meeting.
  • Provides oversight for Ministry Scheduling tool (MSP) and Sacramental Records.
  • Provide Diocese with bi-annual Mass counts and annual Status Animarum report.
  • Work with Parish and Diocesan offices for First Holy Communion and Confirmation Masses.
  • Collaborate with local counseling center (Life Connections) to further enhance partnership.
  • Mentor ECHO (Notre Dame Master’s Program) apprentice at St. Tim’s and work with ND leadership to further promote the program.
  • Collaborates with diocesan offices, promoting related initiatives especially those identified by the Bishop.
  • Collaborates with local community churches and resources in line with the priorities as identified by the pastor.
  • Mentor new ministry leaders, as needed.
  • Facilitates ministry life utilizing good stewardship practices.
  • Finds creative ways to support the growth and strengthening of existing ministries.
  • Develops new ministries that fit with the mission of the Church and pastor’s priorities.
  • Seeks ways to promote the development of missionary disciples in ministries and parish life.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements, Skills & Abilities:

Must be a practicing Catholic.
A highly organized individual who can multi-task and react to changes/requests from staff, clergy, volunteers and parishioners.
Financial budgeting oversight and the ability to ensure team members stay within projected budgets.
Ability to be flexible with time commitments, including evening and weekend hours as events/Masses are planned.
Ability to manage ministry volunteers effectively and pastorally.
Bachelors Degree – Theology or Pastoral Administration/Parish Management degree preferred, but not required.
At least 5 years of parish/pastoral experience required.
Possess excellent written and verbal skills.
Is knowledgeable of the principles of pastoral planning.
Is knowledgeable of and has experience in leading and directing the work of others. 
Is knowledgeable of parish policy and guidelines in relationship to diocesan policy and guidelines.
Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI Background Screening and complete Safe Environment Training before employment.
