We are saddened to announce that Deacon William “Bill” Diaz passed away on Sunday September 22, 2019. He is survived by his wife Violet of 68 years. Deacon Bill was ordained for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on May 2, 1987 and was assigned to Christ the King Parish in Tampa. During his active years he also served as deacon at Corpus Christi Parish in Temple Terrace and St. Anne Parish in Ruskin. He was granted retirement status in 2006, and in 2007 he moved to Ana Maria Island. Deacon Bill and Violet returned to Tampa in 2018 and attended Epiphany of Our Lord Parish in Tampa. Deacon Bill was 88.

The viewing for Deacon Bill will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church (821 South Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33609) on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 9:00am to 9:45am.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10:00am at Christ the King Catholic Church.
