Deacon Raymond Dever

The Diaconate sadly informs the passing of Deacon Raymond Dever, 74, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, while under Hospice care in Tampa.  Deacon Dever was ordained for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on October 3, 2009 and served at St. Paul Parish, Tampa until 2022.  He was subsequently incardinated into the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky in April 2024.  He is survived by his wife, Laurie, three children, and other extended family members.

All services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa and are as follows:

Visitation:              Thursday, January 30, 2025, 7:00-8:30 p.m., during which a Vigil Service will be held.
Funeral Mass:        Friday, January 31, 2025, 10:00 a.m.
                               Most Reverend John Stowe, O.F.M., Bishop of Lexington, will be the Main Celebrant

Priests wishing to concelebrate are asked to bring an alb and white stole. Deacons wishing to vest are asked to bring an alb and white/gold dalmatic.
