March for Life and Youth Rally
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is leading the Tampa Bay March for Life/Youth Rally on February 1, 2025 at 9:00 AM. The march will begin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (509 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33602) and end at Perry Harvey Sr. Park (1000 E Harrison St, Tampa, FL 33602) where all will gather to celebrate the sanctity of life through prayer, music, and inspiring speeches to raise awareness, inspire others, and advocate for life in the community.

A New Jubilee Year Webpage is Launched for the Diocese of Saint Petersburg
To help local Catholics plan for and participate in the Jubilee Year of Hope, information has been posted to the Diocese of Saint Petersburg website. You will find information about local, national, and international resources, celebrations and activities.
Six Local Churches are Places of Pilgrimage during the Jubilee Year
Bishop Gregory Parkes has designated six churches in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg as pilgrimage sites during the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope. Catholics who visit these churches and commit to certain prayers and spiritual practices, receive a Plenary Indulgence from Pope Francis. A “Passport” has been created as a keepsake and guide. There will be printed copies of this booklet near the church entrance at the pilgrimage sites.

CRS Rice Bowl Grant Opportunity
CRS Rice Bowl is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this Lent! Millions of Catholics in the U.S. donate each Lent in support of CRS international anti-poverty relief and development projects in over 120 countries. 75% of the collection is used overseas and the 25% retained by our Diocese is made available for small grants of up to $1,000.00. Diocesan entities may apply for grants to help fund innovative hunger and poverty alleviation efforts or justice education projects. Applications are due by January 22, 2025.

Hand in Hand with Haiti Twinning Committee
On Saturday February 1, 2025, from 5:30 – 8:30 PM, Holy Family Parish will celebrate 17 years of Twinning as we have our annual fundraiser for our sister parish, St Gabriel in Beau Sejour, Haiti. The money raised through donations will go to support St. Gabriel Parish and the parish Medical Clinic. Refreshments, appetizers, and dinner are being prepared by parishioner Dave DeRose. This dinner will be held at Holy Family School, 200 78th Ave. NE, St. Pete 33703. All are welcome.

Cardinal Gregory, Archbishop, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. will discuss how this year marks the 60th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council’s historic declaration on the Church’s relations relationship with non-Christian religions, Nostra Aetate. This declaration positively reframed Catholic-Jewish relations, condemned antisemitism and racism and called for dialogue and study with members of other religious traditions.

Learn More about Tampa Area’s Catholic, Jewish History on January 22nd
Saint Leo University’s Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies and the Tampa Bay History Center will host a special conversation, the History of Catholic-Jewish Relations in Tampa Bay, 6:30 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 22. Part of the Florida Conversations lecture series, it is free. It will be held at the Tampa Bay History Center’s TECO Hall, 801 Water St., Tampa, FL 33602, and will be livestreamed.
The program examines the intertwined history of Tampa’s Catholic and Jewish communities. A panel of longtime local leaders will share knowledge and personal experiences, offering insights into this unique relationship.
