Reverend Richard F. Rosin

The Chancellor’s Office was saddened to learn of the death of Reverend Richard Frank Rosin, 62, pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Palm Harbor, on Sunday evening, December 1, 2024, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Father Rosin was recently hospitalized at Mease Countryside Hospital, Clearwater, and was later transferred to Oak Manor Hospice, in Largo, where he was at the time of his passing.

Father Rosin was ordained to the priesthood for the Salesians of Don Bosco on May 28, 1995, and formerly served as guidance counselor and president of St. Petersburg Catholic High School. After leaving our diocese in 2017, he returned in 2020, serving as parochial vicar of St. John Vianney Parish, St. Pete Beach (2020-2022), and Espiritu Santo Parish, Safety Harbor (2022-2024), before being appointed as pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist in July 2024. He was incardinated into the Diocese of St. Petersburg on September 15, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nina, earlier this year. He is survived by his father, Richard, and his brother, Frank, along with extended family members, dear friends, and brothers from the Salesian community.

All funeral services will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2757 Alderman Road, Palm Harbor and are as follows:
Visitation: Tuesday, December 10, 2024, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Evening Prayer will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, December 11, 2024, 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater, at a later date.
