Parish Sacristan Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee, schedule and train volunteer weekday and weekend sacristans. There are currently 22 volunteer sacristans
• Oversee the Baptism and Wedding sacristans
• Prepare the Church, Chapel or other venue for Mass as needed
• Assist the presider and visiting priests
• Keep track of all liturgical essentials, inventory, ordering and invoicing.
• Oversee the Liturgical Environment Volunteers
• Oversee the Votive Candle Volunteers
• Oversee the changing of missalettes and music books seasonally
• Oversee Mass Linens and Altar Clothes volunteers
• Periodically have Priest Albs and Chasubles cleaned
• Organizes the sacristy and supply rooms on a regular basis
• Prepares specific items needed for any special rite as i.e. St. Blasé candles Ash Wednesday ashes.
• Works directly with the Pastor and the Director of Liturgy and Music

Candidate must successfully complete a Level II FBI background screening and complete Safe Environment Training.
