Reverend Paul Hervey

The Chancellor’s Office has received word of the sudden passing of Father Paul Hervey, age 77,
on Monday, September 21, 2015 at his home.

A widower and late vocation, Father Hervey was ordained for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on
May 20, 1995 at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle.  His parish assignments include Our Lady of Grace,
Beverly Hills; Incarnation, Tampa; St. Luke the Evangelist, Palm Harbor; Prince of Peace, Sun City Center;
and Our Lady Queen of Peace  in New Port Richey.  Father Hervey was a former state chaplain for the
Florida State Council of the Knights of Columbus and currently served a diocesan chaplain of St. Petersburg.
He was a U.S Army veteran, serving in 1961-63.

He is survived by his daughter Amy Hervey Goodden (Raymond Goodden, granddaughter, Kaitlin Mary
Farquharson, grandson-in-law, Michael Farquharson, grandsons, Ryan Jesse and Mark Goodden), his sister,
Sylvia Creech, brothers David, Raymond and Robert Hervey and preceded in death by his sister, Mary Joan
Fratrick and brother, John Richard.

Services will be at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Avenue North,
St. Petersburg.

Monday, September 28, 2015
Reception of the Body:    4:45 p.m.
Viewing:  5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 7:00 p.m.   – Reception to follow in the Cathedral Center

Tuesday, September 29, 2015
Burial   – 10:00 a.m.   Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Bishop Robert Lynch will preside.   Priests and Deacons wishing to vest, please bring an alb and white stole.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society,
384 15th Street N, St. Petersburg, Florida 33705.

There will be a Memorial Mass for Fr. Hervey on October 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at
Our Lady Queen of Peace, New Port Richey, FL.


Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
