Word reached our office of the passing of Sister Kathleen Therese McCann, baptized Mary Helen McCann, April 4, 2023, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was 97 years of age and in the 75th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sister Kathleen Therese ministered for more than 25 years in elementary and secondary education in Lansing, St. Clair Shores, New Baltimore, Dearborn, and Detroit, Michigan, and in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Walton Beach, and Miami, Florida. She served 14 years as executive secretary to the Adrian Dominican Sisters in congregational offices in Adrian and in West Palm Beach, Florida. She also ministered 12 years as a chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Florida, and one year at St. Mary Hospital in West Palm Beach. 

Sister Kathleen Therese became a resident at the Dominican Life Center in 2002. She  was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Betty LePine, Beatrice Karakashian, Lois Healy and Therese Abraham and a brother, Michael McCann. She is survived by a brother, Donald McCann of Riverview, Florida; other loving family members; and her Adrian Dominican Sisters.
