National Black Catholic Congress XIII – “Write the Vision: A Prophetic Call to Thrive
The National Black Catholic Congress announces the date and theme for Congress XIII.
Write the Vision: A Prophetic Call to Thrive
After much prayerful consideration, the theme for Congress XIII is “Write the Vision: A Prophetic Call to Thrive.” The theme is based on Habakkuk 2:2-4, “Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write down the vision; Make it plain upon tablets, so that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is a witness for the appointed time, a testimony to the end; it will not disappoint. If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late. See, the rash have no integrity, but the just one who is righteous because of faith shall live.”

Day of Reflection
In preparation for Congress XIII, (arch)dioceses across the United States will hold a Day of Reflection (DOR), conducted by members of the Offices of Black Catholic, Multicultural Ministry, or any other group that would like to participate in the Day of Reflection. The results from these Days of Reflection are reported back to the NBCC, and help guide the content we present at the upcoming Congress gathering. We will have information on our local day of reflection soon.
The NBCC convenes a national congress every five years. Each one renews and develops our mission with a Pastoral Plan. The last congress was held in Orlando, Florida in 2017. The next congress was to be in 2022, but was delayed due to Covid-19 concerns.
