United for Life | Walking with Moms in Need
The ruling on the U.S. Supreme Court case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization represents an answer to millions of prayers that have been offered for mothers, fathers and their preborn children. For decades, the Catholic Church has been a leader in advocating for life in all stages of development and praying for an end to Roe v. Wade that left a whole class of human beings, the preborn, outside the protection of the law. The ruling issued on June 24, 2022, has given states an opportunity to undo the grave injustice of the 1973, Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion across the country. In the decades that followed the Roe decision, about 60 million preborn children have been aborted in the U.S. The overturning of Roe means each state can now decide to protect the lives of preborn children, and in doing so, also protect millions of women from the tragic consequences of abortion.
The Catholic Church has a long history of service to those who are most vulnerable and remains the largest private provider of social services in the United States. Through the sacrificial efforts of faithful Catholics, the Church serves millions through diocesan ministries and agencies, crisis pregnancy centers, Catholic hospitals and healthcare systems, immigration clinics, shelters, and Catholic schools and parishes.
Here are some helpful resources for Courageously Living the Gospel of life so that all human life is protected in law and welcomed in love.

Prayer for Life
Heavenly Father, the beauty and dignity of human life was the crowning of your creation. You further ennobled that life when your Son became one with us in his incarnation. Help us to realize the sacredness of human life and to respect life from the moment of conception until the last moment at death. Give us the courage to speak with truth, love, and conviction in defense of life. Help us to extend the gentle hand of mercy and forgiveness to those who do not reverence your gift of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Learn About the Issues
The Church will never cease to do what it has always done- to pray, work, and serve until the day when every human life is protected in law, and welcomed in love. Until that day comes, and ever after, we will continue to care for women and children in need, so that every mother has the support to joyfully choose life. Pro-life Americans of all faiths have stepped forward to establish pregnancy care centers, and will be counted on to provide even more help as needed. Pro-life activists have been helping women and babies over the last nearly half-century.

Help for Pregnant Women
If you or someone you know is pregnant and needs help, we encourage you to find a local pregnancy center to find the support you need. Local pregnancy help centers are the best place to start. At a pregnancy help center, you will find individuals who care about you and are dedicated to doing everything possible to help you explore your options by providing accurate information. They can help you verify your pregnancy with an accurate pregnancy test and ultrasound if needed. They have information on the resources available to you that can help to meet your financial, material and emotional needs. Click here to find a local pregnancy center.
