Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Jesus Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!  Easter is a defining moment because the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ bestows upon us the grace that transforms our lives. The gift of eternal life, the gift of forgiveness, and the gift of hope are all made possible by the Resurrection.  Jesus Christ, both human and divine, perfectly fulfilled the will of His Father out of love for you and for me. What happened to Jesus Christ on the cross and in the tomb two thousand years ago matters to each one of us today and always.

The journey from darkness to light is one that we all experience, not just once, but at various times in life. Whatever is weighing you down at the present time – fear, anxiety, depression, or any other burden, is confronted by the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. God restores and makes all things new through Jesus Christ who is the source of our hope and joy. This is our faith, the message we proclaim through our daily witness of compassion and love.

We are all members of God’s family. We are called at Easter, and at every single Mass, to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to give thanks for what He has done for us.  Let us respond to this invitation with joy in our hearts and hope for the future. Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,

¡Jesucristo ha resucitado! ¡En verdad resucitó! La Pascua es un acontecimiento decisivo, porque el poder de la resurrección de Jesucristo nos concede la gracia que transforma nuestra vida. El don de la vida eterna, el don del perdón y el don de la esperanza se hacen posibles por la resurrección. Jesucristo, tanto en su naturaleza humana como divina, cumplió a la perfección la voluntad de su Padre por amor a ti y a mí. Lo que le sucedió a Jesucristo en la cruz y en el sepulcro hace dos mil años es importante para cada uno de nosotros hoy y siempre.

El camino de la oscuridad hacia la luz lo experimentamos todos, y no sólo una vez, sino en varios momentos de la vida. Cualesquiera cosas que en estos momentos te sea una carga –así sea el temor, la ansiedad, la depresión o cualquier otro peso– se puede confrontar con la esperanza que tenemos en Jesucristo.  Dios restaura y hace nuevas todas las cosas por medio de Jesucristo, que es la fuente de nuestra esperanza y alegría. Ésta es nuestra fe y es el mensaje que proclamamos en nuestro testimonio diario de compasión y amor.

Todos somos miembros de la familia de Dios. En la Pascua y en cada Misa estamos llamados a celebrar la muerte y resurrección de Jesucristo, y a dar gracias por lo que él ha hecho por nosotros. Respondamos a esta invitación con alegría en el corazón y esperanza en el futuro. ¡Bendiciones de Pascua para ti!
