The Diocese of St. Petersburg Review Board functions as a confidential consultative body to the Bishop. The majority of its members are lay persons not in the employ of the Diocese in accordance with the Essential Norms for Diocesan/Eparchial Policies Dealing with Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Priests or Deacons, 2002.

This board assists the Bishop in assessing allegations and fitness for ministry and will regularly review Diocesan Policies and Procedures for dealing with the sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable adults.  Also, the board can act both retrospectively and prospectively on these matters and give advice on all aspects of responses required in connection with these cases.
